Tripling access to a £multi-million investment in Kent school

A trio of Stannah Maxilift MRLi passenger lifts has made brand new educational facilities more accessible for staff, visitors and mobility compromised students in Dane Court Grammar School, a mixed, 11 – 18 grammar school for 1200 students in Broadstairs, Kent.

Founded in 1957, this ‘outstanding school in all areas’ (Ofsted 2007) is also a Specialist Language College and was awarded the Intermediate International Schools Award in 2006. Part of the BSF initiative, the school has been radically transformed through a £20 million building programme.

Scenic lift bridges the gap at Cardiff Central

National lift service provider, Stannah, have completed the challenging installation of a scenic Passenger lift within in the Art Deco ticket hall of Cardiff Central Station. Stannah were the Principal Contractor on a 4-month project to install a lift for Arriva Trains Wales and Network Rail to ensure easy access to Platform Zero.

No pit - no problem

A conventional passenger lift requires a pit depth of 1100mm – 1200mm, so when Stannah were approached to provide a lift in Winchester offices with undercroft parking the Stannah design team was able to offer an immediate solution with the Midilift XLplus that requires a mere 70mm pit depth.

Peter Arculus, MD of Acorn Design & Project Management, explains his decision to use a Midilift XLplus: “We have used Stannah Lifts before and knew that we would get a good product backed by a good service from a local supplier.
