Hill Road in Southampton is a Swaythling Housing Society development built using the timber frame method. The developer Highwood Construction sub-contracted Stannah Passenger Lifts to install its FX structure supported passenger lift, for timber framed buildings, into the block of flats on the Hill Road site. The lift has been specifically adapted to withstand the shrinkage experienced in timber frame structures.
