Dear subscriber

Welcome to our special newsletter celebrating Royal connections.

When we registered our request for a Royal visit to mark a maufacturing milestone in our Stairlift business we were delighted to get a positive response with a date later on in the year a possibility. Then a call with a date less than three weeks away certainly got the adrenelin going. The resulting visit by HRH The Prince of Wales on 21st February 2011 was a privilege and a truly wonderful occasion for the whole business. The day brought staff, family and the community together and gave everyone a lift (excuse the pun) on a drizzly, grey winter's day.

What a start to, what promises to be, an exciting year.

Kind regards

Jon Stannah

HRH The Prince of Wales celebrates British manufacturing

21 February 2011: World-leading stairlift manufacturer Stannah Group has today signalled a healthy future for British manufacturing, as its 500,000th stairlift rolls off the manufacturing line.

The occasion was marked during a special visit to Stannah's Andover-based factory by HRH The Prince of Wales and the day became a celebration of the firm's success in building a leading global brand which carries the stamp of British industry to the four corners of the globe.

With an engineering heritage going back to 1867, Stannah now employs 1,500 people. Its stairlifts have successfully brought freedom and independence to thousands of elderly and disabled people, in 42 countries worldwide. In 2010, Stannah received its fourth Queen's Award for Enterprise.
